UF Diabetes Institute Welcomes New Clinical Coordinator

Eleni Polopolous SheehanThe UF Diabetes Institute is pleased to welcome Ms. Eleni Polopolus Sheehan, BSN, RN. Eleni will contribute to our core mission of research as a clinical research coordinator where she will add to the success of the T1D Exchange and The Environmental Determinants of Diabetes in the Young (TEDDY) studies, in addition to others. Ms. Sheehan left a career in marketing and non-profit development to pursue a career closer to her passion: diabetes research and clinical care.

Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was 9, Sheehan volunteered, helped friends and mentored a young child who also had the disease. “I think I can help people from a unique perspective,” she says. “For children, especially, it’s a family thing. It affects everyone and everyone needs to be together.”

Please help us welcome Ms. Sheehan! You can learn more about her here.
