Goals
- To screen 100k people per year in the state of Florida.
- Ensure screening for T1D becomes part of the standard of care in pediatrics.
- To fundamentally understand T1D and discover new treatment options that will preserve beta cell function.
Interested in Screening?
Are you at higher risk?
Higher risk criteria include individuals who have a first or second degree relative with type 1 diabetes. Additionally, individuals with existing diagnosis of single organ auto immune conditions such as: Hashimoto’s, Graves, Celica disease, vitiligo, Ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, myasthenia gravis and multiple sclerosis are considered to be at higher risk and should be screened for autoantibodies of type 1 diabetes.
