UF professor receives AADE award for diabetes research

Assistant Professor Anastasia Albanese-O’Neill received the 2015 Innovative Use of Media Technology Award from the American Association of Diabetes Educators. As the recipient of this award she will receive $3,000.00 for the development and/ or implementation of a concept for the innovative use of media and technology to advance diabetes self-management education and training.

Dr. Keselowsky named UF Research Foundation Professor

Benjamin Keselowsky, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Biodmedical Engineering, has been named a UF Research Foundation Professor for 2015-2018. Professor Keselowsky is using a $1.5M grant from the NIDDK to research novel methods for restoring cell function in Type 1 diabetes.

Dr. Sumerlin Receives International Award for Young Scientists

Brent S. Sumerlin, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Chemistry, was selected to receive the 2015 Biomacromolecules/Macromolecules Young Investigator Award. Professor Sumerlin is recognized for advancing research efforts in the synthesis of new materials and the application of smart polymers to diagnose and treat disease - including diabetes. Read more.
