What are your career & professional goals? After graduation, I plan to go on to PA school and become a Physician Assistant. I hope to work in emergency medicine.

Why did you join the UFDI ambassador program? When I came to the University of Florida, I was looking to get involved in things I am passionate about. I discovered the UFDI on Facebook and began to do some research. I soon discovered the student ambassador program and thought it was the perfect way to spread knowledge about a cause I am passionate about!

How has being a UFDI ambassador impacted you? I feel as though being a UFDI ambassador has had a large impact on my college life. After joining, I was introduced to a group of people who share values similar values as me. Not only have I learned a lot about diabetes, I learned about teamwork, community, and collaboration. Before coming to UF, I did not know many diabetics, I often felt out of place. This sense of community I found has helped me transition to college life with diabetes. Aside form that, working together to spread awareness and knowledge has been eye opening to what is going on in the world, and it makes me feel as though we are making a difference with every person we reach. Being a student ambassador has also opened doors for me to increase my awareness and knowledge. From taking classes, to attending seminars, to researching in a lab, I am forever grateful for the opportunities created by the UFDI.

What has been you favorite quarantine pastime? To keep busy during the quarantine, I have been going on runs and I have been practicing yoga!
