What are your career & professional goals? Once I finish my PhD in nursing, I hope to continue on to receive my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. I would love to become a nurse practitioner for pediatric endocrinology. I also wish to continue to conduct research in Type 1 Diabetes and work as a nursing professor one day.

Why did you join the UFDI ambassador program? I have had Type 1 Diabetes since I was 6 years old. I have personally been involved and seen so much of what the UFDI does to progress in the field of Type 1 Diabetes. This made me want to get connected so I could share my personal experiences, grow my knowledge in Type 1 Diabetes, and help teach others about Type 1 Diabetes.

How has being a UFDI ambassador impacted you? As a UFDI ambassador, I have seen how much power we have to teach and impact others when it comes to Type 1 Diabetes. There are many misconceptions and aspects of diabetes that are not always well known. It means a lot to me that I can be a part of spreading awareness and knowledge of Type 1 Diabetes and what the UFDI does.

What has been you favorite quarantine pastime? During quarantine I have loved to go biking and learn new songs on the piano.
