In recognition of World Diabetes Day the UFDI-in partnership with PHHP-hosted an event focused on supporting people living with diabetes in the workplace, where diabetes can often be a source of stress, stigma and fear.
Organized by Dr. Ashby Walker, PHHP associate professor and UFDI associate director of community and population health, and Dr. Sarah Westen, UFDI assistant director of behavioral research, the session featured insights from Jordan Major, Ph.D. student in Occupational Therapy, and Kelley Hoover, assistant director for access at the UF Disability Resource Center/Division of Student Life.
Special thanks to Benjamin Churba, Ph.D. student in Public Health (Health Services Research), for his contributions in making this event a success.
