– An Interview with David Panzirer, Trustee, The Helmsley Charitable Trust –
Over the last 13 years, the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust has become one of the world’s largest financial supporters of type 1 diabetes research and care, at a global level. David Panzirer, a Trustee and father of three children, two of whom have type 1 diabetes, has been a driving force behind this growth. However, he and the Trust’s impact goes far beyond funding, having diligently worked to change a series of care paradigms, see product approvals, and elevate the face of type 1 diabetes to so many. Recently, David was interviewed by the Milken Institute wherein he shared this history, his drive, and hopes for the future. In addition, he shares how the Trust is not your typical foundation. I believe many would find this interview both interesting, educational, and beneficial to hear. Enjoy.
