The diabetes research program at the University of Florida is ranked among the most comprehensive in the U.S./world. More than 150 faculty from over 70 locations, 7 colleges and dozens of departments are represented at the UF Diabetes Institute. Researchers from UF’s Agricultural Sciences, Genetics Institute, Institute on Aging, UF Health Shands and UF Health Jacksonville, just to name a few, are all aiming to bridge disciplines in the laboratory and clinical setting to prevent and treat diabetes.
UFDI investigators conduct research in 5 key areas and fields of study. Many are recipients of prestigious awards in diabetes care and research from national organizations such as American Diabetes Association, JDRF, National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, and more.
