The UF Health Shands Hospital Diabetes Self-Management Education Program for Adults
The UF Health Shands Hospital Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) Program accepts referrals from care providers and is covered by most insurance plans. The DSME is an American Diabetes Association recognized education program.
Patients can be referred to the entire program, or specific portions related to their educational needs such as carbohydrate counting and new insulin medication or meter start.

UF Health Fitness and Wellness Center
UF Health Fitness and Wellness Center is an employee wellness center as well as a medical fitness center.
Athletic trainers and exercise physiologists from Shands Rehab Centers have developed a medically based, supervised fitness/wellness program. The program benefits those who have just completed rehabilitative therapy, have an on-going medical condition or have been referred by their physicians to begin a supervised fitness/wellness program.
