Featured Programs and Services:
Gator Advantage– expedited access at UF Physicians practices and UF Health Shands Hospital outpatient facilities, and complimentary parking. Just say, “I am a GatorAdvantage member” when you call for an appointment.
The UF Health Diabetes Education Program helps patients take control of diabetes by teaching them to manage the disease with the latest advances in medical care and education. Adults can be referred to the program by their primary care physician or endocrinologist and the courses are taught by certified diabetes educators and other health care professionals.
UF Student Health Care Center– The University of Florida cares for the health of its students and community. The UF Student Health Care Center offers resources and services for students with diabetes in an effort to help educate, manage, and improve care for diabetes management.

UF Health Fitness and Wellness Center– one of Gainesville’s newest fitness and wellness centers at which medical fitness is also available. All aspects of our programs are aimed at helping people achieve a healthy and fit lifestyle that can last a lifetime. Whether just improving your fitness level, recovering from an injury or managing diabetes, high blood pressure or high cholesterol, UF Health Fitness and Wellness Center is there to help.
Take Charge of Your Diabetes (TCYD)– an in-depth extension-based, collaborative educational program targeted to adults with type 2 diabetes. The program is designed to improve blood glucose control and reduce long-term health risks of persons with diabetes by providing the information and motivation they need to adopt positive behavior changes. UF Health Wellness Initiative– With a renewed focus on employee health and wellness, the Shands at UF Wellness Council offers several wellness events throughout the year, which include screenings, health assessments and incentives for employees to participate.
UF Health Weight Loss Surgery Center – Shands Hospital– University of Florida surgeons provide comprehensive surgical care, offering advanced surgical techniques and a wide-range of minimally invasive and endovascular procedures.
Weight Watchers at Work– UF faculty, staff, and students are welcomed and encouraged to attend these sessions during the semester. We meet every Thursday that school is in session for weigh-ins starting at 12pm and a 30 minute meeting which starts at 12:30pm. We meet in room 215 of the Florida Gym.
