female doctor resizeThe American Diabetes Association has issued its ‘Standards of Medical Care in Diabetes’ for 2014.

Guidelines were based the on latest research work of diabetes investigators from around the globe, including several UF Health diabetes research faculty. The standards emphasize an individualized approach to managing diabetes. The recommendations published in Diabetes Care feature current criteria for diabetes diagnosis and diabetes screening for children and asymptomatic patients.

The guidelines also encourage clinicians to look at various options when prescribing neuropathy treatments and to retain one-step gestational diabetes screening.
