Anastasia Albanese-O’Neill named a Jonas Scholar
Anastasia Albanese-O’Neill, RN, MA, CDE, was recently named a Jonas Scholar. Mrs. Albanese-O’Neill also serves as a consultant at the University of Florida Diabetes Center and is pursuing doctoral studies focused on the use of technology in diabetes care and management. She currently manages digital communications for the UF Diabetes Center and serves as a diabetes nurse educator in UF&Shands pediatric diabetes clinics. Anastasia has also served at the UF Diabetes Center as the director of a type 1 diabetes basic science research project, the Network for Pancreatic Organ Donors with Diabetes (nPOD), funded by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
This distinguished award will help her complete her doctoral studies and develop leadership skills. Care, Lead, Inspire continues at the College of Nursing. She was featured in UF’s College of Nursing, “The Gator Nurse” magazine. The Jonas Center is philanthropy dedicated to building the effectiveness of America’s professional nurses in three key ways, including: developing outstanding faculty, advancing scholarship, and sparking innovative practice.
